At Branell Homestead we have a number of different spots to hold your wedding ceremony. The two most popular are on the lawn in front of the Homestead and down by our jetty. We also have a huge fig tree on the lower end of the property which has become another popular spot. Your wedding ceremony is such a special part of your wedding day, so our main focus is that you chose the perfect location.
Tamika and Thomas were married at Branell in September. They are two of the nicest people you could imagine and their wedding was absolutely beautiful from start to finish. They decided to try something different and hold their ceremony on the hill behind our Luxury Cabins. The view from this spot is spectacular and it is the perfect backdrop for declaring your love for each other – it is literally the top of a mountain! Tamika and Thomas have been kind enough to share a few words about their experience and some of their stunning photos to give you an idea of what their ceremony set up was like.
“When looking for a wedding venue we considered many different options, but once we heard about Branell we had to visit to experience what others had spoken about. From the first contact with Kathy and her team, we were smitten with the beautiful surrounds and the amazing views. The location of the ceremony was something I wanted to be different from every other wedding at Branell. We met with Kathy two weeks before the wedding and she showed us a number of places to have the ceremony – nothing was too much trouble for her. We fell in love with the spot near the cabins because we could utilise the beautiful views. Of course, the location we chose was the highest point of the venue. On the day of our wedding we were lucky to have the sun shining, but the wind was cyclonic! The views on the hill at Branell assisted in creating the amazing atmosphere that we will look back on forever. Everything all went to plan and with the love and support of family and friends we achieved the magical day we had always dreamed of. Branell offered everything we could have possibly imaged and much more.” — Tamika and Thomas
There are a couple of things you do need to consider if you would also like to take advantage of this location for your ceremony.
Preparation of area: You will need to make sure you discuss your wishes with us well ahead of time. We can then arrange for the area to be mowed and well presented for your day.
Transportation: Your guests will need to be transported from the main car park by the Pavilion. There is no parking available at this location, so you may need to consider a mini bus. It might be a little too far to walk…especially in heels!
Area/Access: The ground is quite uneven in places, so if you have any elderly guests or ones that are a little unsteady on their feet it might be an idea to come and look at the location first. They might just need a little extra help reaching the ceremony. It can also be a tricky location for seating because of the slope. Our white Americana chairs can be a little unstable in some areas, so you may like to consider using hay bales or even picnic blankets.
Facilities: The only toilets will be those in the cabins, and they will still be a short walk. There is also no power, so you will need to ensure you put plans in place for this.
